Christmas Time!

We took the longest vacation of our lives over Christmas this year.  Since Andrew had almost 6 weeks off of school and I work from home anyway, so decided to really wear out our welcome with our families :)

So on Friday, December 18th, we headed out!  It's a 9 hour drive to Broomfield and I think we only stopped at McDonalds once......and the girls played while we ordered food:

The drive was uneventful and the weather perfect so we arrived without incident.  I guess besides Abigail's explosion in her pants/car seat.....

We had a few fun days in Broomfield before the rest of the families arrived and all I took pictures of was us going to Cabelas - the girls loved the fish!

Once everyone was in town things went a little nuts - the only person missing was Uncle Evan, gone in basic training.  The other 22 members of the Larsen Clan all stayed under one roof......

And we celebrated by making pizza!

And going swimming at the rec center on Christmas Eve.  Also, I may or may not have locked our keys in the car in the rec center parking lot :(  $180 later......

A common theme in all of our vacation pictures is a lack of girls looking at the camera.  I don't know that I got even one really good picture of all of them.  What can I say, they were a little distracted and a LOT crazy!

Our Christmas Eve girls:

And our Christmas Eve!

That night, we did a very casual rendition of the nativity with kids kind of jumping in as they wanted.  Halle wanted to be Mary and was very sweet to the baby Jesus.

After the Nativity, we sang Christmas songs - here's a glimpse into "Once there was a snowman":

Time to hang stockings before bed!

Halle had a meltdown....

(I warned you they didn't look at the camera....)

Halle and Eve drew pictures for Santa.  I'm not big into kids writing letters asking Santa for presents, but the girls do like to draw him a picture!

And of course leave cookies!  Everyone got to pick one for Santa!  His plate's in the middle....

Now off to bed!

Christmas morning!

Abigail had lots of willing helpers when it was her turn to open a present -

LOTS of helpers :)

General chaos most of the day, including Kelly and Lance taking Daryn to the hospital with an infection where she remained for 3 days :(  We missed them, but enjoyed playing with Reagan!  And eating Christmas dinner!

I don't know if Uncle Merrill enjoyed it or not.....

And I really wanted a decent picture of the girls on Christmas :(  This is the best we got.....

And the (almost) best thing about Christmas????  Cookies!  Look at all the choices!  We ate way too many and loved it!

That wraps up Christmas, but our vacation was just starting....
