When we told Eve that she would get to see two of her uncles in one weekend she was excited!
When we told her she still had a couple of days to wait, she wasn't happy......
But wait she did, and come they did! First we had a visit from Uncle Eric! He came on Thursday evening, August 25th. He stayed that night with us, then left the next day to head to Chicago to visit Andrew's cousin Kevin and his family. (We followed his example and visited them the following weekend - that post is forthcoming!).
So we got to visit with Eric a bit on Thursday evening, then again on Saturday evening when he got back from his Chicago trip. He stayed with us until Monday (partly to avoid the crazy storm in DC I think!) then headed back to school and his fiancee!
Eve wasn't too sure about him at first, but he quickly won her over.
She showed him how she likes to suck her pacifier sideways:
He and Andrew showed Eve how a sour gummy worm tastes:
She was a fan!
On Sunday afternoon, we got to skype with Andrew's family (we try to skype with both our families every week - the next best thing to being there in person!). Eve and I were hangin' out while the boys talked with their uncle and Eve wanted me to take a picture of her.
She also wanted to take a picture of Daddy. I helped a bit.
Saying hi to Grandma and Grandpa Smith!
We had a great time with Eric, but as I mentioned at the beginning, Eve got to see TWO uncles that weekend. We've been waiting and WAITING and we finally found out that Stuart was dropping a load in the Detroit area! (He's driving trucks....)
He was going to be in town Monday morning, so I took a few hours off of work so we could see him!
This is Eve and I waiting for him to arrive!
Eve even had a bath and combed her hair!
And played with Uncle Eric who was leaving for home after we met Stuart for breakfast.
The only reason she looks concerned in this picture is that we were beginning to encroach on her nap time....
Stuart safely arrived and we all went to breakfast at the National Coney Island diner! Don't ask me why Detroit has so many Coney Island restaurants, but it does! They are EVERYWHERE! Um, people, Coney Island is in NY......maybe no one's ever told them that before....
But I digress....the food was delicious and super cheap so you won't hear me complaining!
Eve particularly enjoyed the jam packets. And butter.
And straws.
And, of course, the company of her two uncles!
We were so glad that we got to see Eric and Stuart! Living far from family is no fun, but it does make visits all the more special!
We love our brothers! (All of them!)
