Happy Easter 2012!

We had a wonderful Easter this year!  We did our outdoor festivities on Saturday, starting with some outdoor playing time with Eve!  That girl loves to be outdoors!

She could tell excitement was in the air, but wasn't even sure yet why...

Before we could start Easter egg hunting, someone needed a nap.  And woke up a little worse for the wear...

But she quickly regained good spirits when she learned what it meant to hunt for eggs, or "ehhhs!" as Eve says.  And what joy to discover that they had CANDY inside!

She was so excited to find them, she didn't want to put them in her basket!

It was even enough to make her smile big for the camera, which she usually won't do!

She learned after the first few eggs that in order to get them all, she'd have to utilize the basket.

You can tell along the fence just how long the grass was when we moved in.

A successful egg hunt thanks to our great hider - Dad!

We decided after the egg hunt that we still had some energy left so we grabbed some old bread and headed to the park.

There were lots of turtles and ducks so Eve (with help) threw them plenty of hot dog buns.  Between trying to take bites for herself.....

It was at this point that the memory card declared itself full, so I wasn't able to document the rest of our afternoon at the park.  After the bread ran out, we went over to the park and Eve played on the slides.  She even climbed the plastic waterfall thingy with a little help.  There were tons of people already there, so we didn't stay long.

But we stopped on the way home and got library cards!  Now we just have to use them.....

Saturday night before we went to bed, we left our Easter baskets out for the Easter bunny to fill and hide.  And what do you know?!  When we woke up Sunday morning, we had some hunting to do!

Eve found my basket first - under the kitchen sink.....keep looking!

There it is!  In another cabinet!

Apparently the little Easter dog was very kissable.  Look at all those treats!  Dad'll have to help eat those....

Andrew even found his basket - under the bathroom sink.  The Easter bunny seemed to link cabinets this year....

We enjoyed wonderful Church meetings that morning.  Easter is my favorite holiday, and I love the chance to remember our Savior's Atonement and Resurrection.

That afternoon, we went up to my Grandma's for Easter dinner.  Eve had a special present waiting for her!

A pretty new dress!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

We took plenty of pictures of Eve in her Easter dress (from Grandma Smith), but when I went back through them, I found that they hadn't turned out as well as I thought.  Here are the best ones....

We hope everyone else had as special as Easter as we did!

Bonus story:  as I way typing out this blog, we gave Eve a graham cracker and asked, "Can you say cracker?"  It came out "crapper".  Classic :)
