Mesquite Rodeo

Before Dad and Eric arrived on Sunday night, we had the chance to go to the Mesquite Rodeo with Mom and some of our family!

Eve was ready to see some cowboys, cows, horses, and even sheep!

She was too little to participate, but at one point, they invited all the kids out to chase a couple of calves around who had ribbons tied to their tails.  Cash prizes for the kids who got those ribbons - chaos ensued!

Eve played it shy all night and besides Andrew and I, would only go to grandma.  Hence the lack of pictures on my part - Eve was on my lap for most of the night.

She was very concerned for the safety of the calves that were being chased, roped, tied up, etc.  She even came to tears over it until we explained as they ran out after being freed that they were going to see their mommies.  Maybe not necessarily true....but it seemed to appease Eve.

We had so much fun because in addition to the three of us and grandma, we also had great grandma and James, Uncle Phil, Aunt Alicia, cousins Michael and Christopher, Uncle Reid, Aunt Jana, and cousins Kate, Ben, and Jane.  A big crowd!  Aunt Jana's parents, brother, and sister-in-law also came.
