Have you ever seen a cuter 4 year old??? Well, technically, this was taken on Eve's birthday eve. A picture of Birthday Eve, if you will ;)
We had Eve's party on Monday night when I got home from work. I believe she had requested broccoli chicken casserole for her birthday dinner and then it was time for presents!
She got so many fun things from so many people! A big thanks to everyone for making her day special!
She was very specific in her cake instructions and I followed them to the letter:
Good thing birthday cake isn't just for birthday girls!
Trying out her new ball and bat with dad!
When I asked if what she wanted for her birthday, she said, "Buzz. And I want Halle to have Woody." That left a lot to the imagination, but Grandma Smith picked up on it and delivered these guys:
The girls went nuts! You'll notice, however, that Eve is holding Woody, not Buzz. As soon as she had them open, she declared that she'd changed her mind and she wanted Halle to have Buzz. Halle was still stuck on Woody, though, so a bit of an argument arose. I laid down the law - they both had to share both of them, but since it was Eve's birthday, she could sleep with Woody and Halle got Buzz. We ended up getting the girls in bed late due to all the celebrating and just before 10pm I hear someone walking around in the hallway upstairs. Upon investigation, I found Halle, firming grasping Woody and she says, "Eve sleepies. Woody!" :) That little stinker waited patiently for her big sister to fall asleep and then quietly removed the coveted Woody.
Here are a couple of stats about Eve at 5 years:
-Basically exactly average in weight and height
-Writes all the letters of the alphabet and knows all their sounds
-Knows how to read, just needs lots of practice
-Mom and Dad's big helper - she's very good with her little sisters and enjoys 'babysitting' them while I run upstairs to grab the laundry, etc.
-Loves to sing and learn new songs; her favorites right now include "Latter-day Prophets", "Baptism" (Jesus came to John the Baptist....), and "Let it Go" (Frozen)
-Enjoys playing outside, reading books, and watching movies
-Some of her favorite foods: rolls, oatmeal, yogurt, milk, smoothies, and quesadillas
-Eve loves to read and discuss the scriptures every day
I can't say enough good about this girl! We love her so much and are so proud of the girl she's becoming!
