This past Saturday was Ranch Day here in Lubbock at the National Ranching Heritage Museum and Daddy took some time away from homework to go with us! The girls got to participate in different crafts, history lessons, etc, to fill up a card that they traded in at the end for cowboy money to buy a treat with!
First up was brushing wool - I could hardly do this activity. It's hard!
They got to build a log cabin!
And make German Christmas stars!
By far the highlight of the day was horseback riding! How cute are these girls????
Halle wanted to go first and jumped right up there!
Eve was very hesitant when she learned I wouldn't be going with her and almost backed out. But she rallied her courage and did great!
Abigail wouldn't even let them put a helmet on her, so she admired the horses from a distance :)
After all the fun, the girls traded in their activity cards for their cowboy pay!
Big money!
Eve and Abigail chose little cowboy rubber duckies and Halle got a candy stick.
And on the way out, Halle got to be a deer! (Or some animal with really big antlers....)
This is how we roll in Lubbock! Can't wait for Ranch Day next year!
