Galveston Part 2

Saturday was another busy, fun day in Galveston.  In the morning, we went to see an old ship and submarine.

USS Stewart!

Lots of steep stairs on the ship kept me on my toes with Abigail!

Time to shoot things!

Agh, stairs!

Enlisting grandma's help on the stairs....

Firing the big gun!

Grandpa's got deadly aim!

Abigail was in line for a turn after Eve, Halle, and Grandpa, but some other family totally butted in front of her and kept the gun occupied for several minutes.  I tried to convince her to just move on (everyone else was already headed to the submarine), but she was determined she wanted a turn on the big gun, so Grandpa and I waited with her and her patience paid off!  She was so excited!

Then over to the submarine!

Ship to shore call!

A tight squeeze for sleeping :)

But this sub was pimped out - even had a flat screen!  And a/c :)

For those who still had any energy left, there was a playground outside of the ships.  Andrew, Halle, and Cora sat in the car, while Eve, Abigail, and I braved the heat a bit longer.

That afternoon, the rest of the group headed to the beach again.  I really didn't want to go, but let the girls decide and despite the misfortunes from the day before, they all voted to return.  Here's the proof that we did, in fact, go back on Saturday.

That night, grandpa grilled!

And I couldn't leave Galveston without a Christmas tree ornament, so we walked down to Murdochs in the evening.  It was such a cool store!

We heard this loud clicking noises and it turned out to be a case of hermit crabs in decorated shells!

The ocean at night it so cool :)

Hanging out on Sunday morning while mom and dad pack up :)

We checked out of the house at 11am then drove up to Houston for church at a random ward building.  After that, it was off to Chris and Kacie's wedding!  It was short, sweet, and beautiful!  Good thing with all these little kids....

Things got a little crazy during the cocktail hour before the dinner/reception began.  These kids were antsy and adults (really, just me) were running out of patience.

Cousins!  All 13 of them!

The girls were falling apart by the time the dinner started.  We were at a table with Kelly and Lance, which was fun, or would have been if our kids had behaved.  Abigail was all over the place.

The girls playing on the floor with the black lights by our table.  Luckily, we were in the back....

Abigail in meltdown :(

Things improved a bit when Andrew took them to the dance floor, but Cora was freaking out by then, so it was time to go!  We had so much fun seeing our Klosowsky family, though!

That night, we drove another hour and a half to stay at a hotel in College Station (to make Monday's drive home shorter).  We were beyond pooped by the time we made it there!  After an uneventful drive home on Monday, we made it back to Lubbock by dinner time!
