Two weekends after our first October trip to Utah, it was Halle's turn to accompany me - this time for my friend Marinda's wedding! We flew out on Thursday, 10/23, and back on Monday, 10/27. Another quick trip, but we jammed it full of fun!
Halle was such a good girl at the airport in Dallas while we waited for our flight. She got a sticker from TSA and a chocolate milk to drink! (Which she may or may not have spilled all over herself.)
We got in VERY late that night to Lance and Kelly's house, so it was right off to bed. Friday morning we were ready for fun, though!
Halle looks fussy here only because she didn't want to share Aunt Kelly's lap :(
She was kind of obsessed with Aunt Kelly....
And the swings.....
She was SUPPOSED to sleep in the cute little orange bed on the floor, but every time I'd check on her, she'd be in the big bed. So we mostly shared :)
She was happy to photo shoot in the orange bed, though, as long as Daryn was up for it!
Silly cousins :)
She found the stash of stuffed animals in Daryn's closet and decided she was good to camp out in there!
Friday afternoon we took the girls to Black Island Forest in Layton - a corn maze with other fun activities for the kids. As an adult, it was....lacking....but the girls had fun! Genevieve met us there with her kids, so it was bonus fun!
I think Halle's favorite part was chasing the chickens. It took some force on my part to convince her to move on to other activities.
They had huge slides set up on hay bales and Kelly was a good sport and took the kids down, over and over and over!
Three little cutie pumpkins :) Reagan in green, Daryn in red, and Halle in blue.
They loved this strange....marshmallow head thing? Just empty inside, but it echoed and that's always cool!
Corn box!
Halle's other favorite, besides the chicken chasing, was the train ride - we even got to go twice!
Just before we left, Aunt Kelly took Halle down the BIG tube tunnel slide!
After dropping Kelly, Reagan, and Daryn in SLC to meet up with Lance, Halle and I drove down to Orem to have dinner with Wong and Marinda. The menu? Canasian, of course!
Sweet and sour chicken and pork dumplings! Does it get any better???
Even though it meant keeping Halle up way to late, I'm glad we got to do Canasian Night together - we haven't done that since 2009!
We spent Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday with the Smiths and FINALLY I remembered to take some pictures :) On Saturday, Halle, Grandma, and I visited Grandpa at work - who has to work on Saturday??? :(
Halle got some M&M's from Grandpa's desk - so fun!
We saw Cosmo in the Cougar Eat (do they still call it that?)....
Saturday evening was Marinda's wedding and reception, so I got more time with Wong! (And Marinda, but she was pretty busy - apparently other people wanted to spend time with her too.) The wedding was very nice and the reception a blast! Such yummy food! And Wong made me go back for seconds....
Sunday was beautiful (a little cool, but not bad) - look at that view! I miss mountains so much!
So I said I took pictures in Provo this time, but what I didn't say is that I didn't take any pictures with Halle, Maren, AND Alexis :( But I did get a couple of Halle and Alexis, playing in Grandpa and Grandma's backyard.
We left on Sunday evening to head back up to Layton in preparation to fly out on Monday.
Saying our goodbyes....
Aunt Kelly surprised us with a little birthday cake for Halle when we got there!
We love cake!
And a little present too! (Halle was extra spoiled this weekend, cause she got an early birthday present from Grandma Smith, too!)
Halle and Reagan loved bedtime stories with Aunt Kelly:
On Monday morning after Reagan's preschool, we made a quick trip over to the rec center for a swim. Halle was super freaked out about the water and clung to me almost the whole time, so maybe it was a good thing we were only there for about 30 mins? The water freaked her out, but not the huge fake spider outside!?
Our last stop on our weekend adventure was Chick-fil-A for lunch and playtime. I'm pleased to report that Halle DID NOT get stuck in the tunnels this time and even came down the slide on her own which it was time to leave.
Saying our Layton goodbyes:
And just like that, we were back at the airport, heading home....
I let Halle listen to "Life is a Highway" from Cars on my iPod on the plane - she loved it! And she looked so cute (this drugged up looking picture doesn't do it justice).
The weekend passed quickly, but I sure enjoyed some one on one time with Halle!
