This summer we joined a babysitting group in our ward so once a month all the 10 kids in the group (4 families) come to our house and the other three weekends, they rotate to the other homes. Which means three Friday nights a month, we have a date night! We decided to make one a temple night, one a regular date night, and reserve one for a date night with one of the girls.
Eve's turn came first, so one Friday night in September, we dropped Halle and Abigail off at babysitting and Eve hit the town with us! (This is the best picture we could get....)
She got to choose our evening so we started out at McDonalds and her first ever Happy Meal!
After that, she wanted to watch some of her favorite shows with us - mostly Jake and the Neverland Pirates. So we obliged!
We finished off the evening making Texas sheet cake - apparently I didn't take pictures of that part :(
Nothing too fancy, but it's what she wanted and we had such fun spending the evening with Eve!
In October, it was Halle's turn!
First up, a quick trip to Costco - it was more fun than it sounds :)
Halle also chose McDonalds for dinner and then wanted to play games with mom and dad - Chutes and Ladders!
After dinner, we made oreo milkshakes and Halle helped lick the beaters!
Then she chose to watch an episode of Care Bears with us while we enjoyed our ice cream.
It's fun to get to spend some two on one time with our girls and get to know their amazing personalities just a little better! Two families in our babysitting group are moving in December, so we'll see what the future holds.....
