South Plains Fair

Since the State Fair of Texas was out this fall, we hit up the local South Plains Fair and had a great time!  Hey, a merry go round is a merry go round!

This is Abigail freaking out because she didn't like it and making me hold her :(

Eve took one look at this huge slide and insisted she wanted to give it a try!  So all by herself she paid her tickets, walked to the top, and rode down!  I was videoing, so this is the only picture I got - the ride freaked her out and was a little out of sorts at the bottom.

That lasted about 5 seconds, then she decided she wanted to ride it again!  Silly girl!  And this time, Halle wanted to go.  The nice lady taking tickets took the time to walk both girls up the stairs to the top, then rode down with them when Halle froze up.  She even gave the girls their tickets back at the end!  They were both begging to go on the slide again for the rest of the afternoon.....

Award winning pumpkins!

What's a fair without cows???

The petting area was a bit hit!

Our chicks!

The pigs were a little exciting!  One of the pigs went nuts and was charging up and down the aisle we were walking on, with the owners unable to control him.  The girls were quick to get out of the way so we walked away unharmed, but they still talk about the 'mad pig'.

As we were wondering around, we happened upon a show with live bears just as it was starting!  These are the bears Disney used as they made Brother Bear and other movies.  Pretty amazing!  That's the bear standing on a ball and getting some honey :)

For their last ride, the girls chose the merry go round again and since she didn't like it, I stayed out with Abigail.  She didn't like that one bit and made it very clear she wanted to ride again....can't make up her mind, I guess??

It started down pouring just before we left, so we took shelter in one of the buildings where this guy was playing music and set out instruments for the kids to join in - which Eve and Abigail gladly did!  Halle wanted no part of it for some reason.

Not to shabby for a Lubbock fair!  We had a great time!
