On August 26th, we had our first urgent care visit with Halle - and only our second ever with any of the girls! Eve and Halle came in from the backyard to tell me that Halle put a "pet rock" up her nose. Our backyard has lots of small rocks that the girls call their 'pets' and Halle decided it'd be a good idea to lodge one in her nose.
I tried various methods to get it out then resorted to the internet when my attempts were unsuccessful. There I learned that I should NOT use tweezers or q-tips, both of which I'd already tried. Halle was pretty upset and I was pretty sure I was only making matters worse, so we decided to let a professional handle it.
Off we go!
Halle was SO brave for the doctor! She held perfectly still while the doctor made various attempts including blowing in her other nostril with a straw, putting glue on the end of a q-tip to pull it out, and finally resorting to picking it out with a sharp instrument which finally worked!
Waiting to be discharged....
Halle got to keep the rock as a souvenir, hopefully as a reminder to never attempt this again!
