October Misc

Here's our random stuff from October!

Another exhausting month:

With plenty of fits thrown!

One night for fun, I set up the tent in the girls room for a sleep out.  That lasted about 5 minutes.  But worth a shot?

Cinnamon rolls for General Conference weekend!  I still bless (or curse?) Candace for giving me the easiest and yummiest cinnamon roll recipe ever.  Unfortunately, the recipe makes two pans....

Besides t-ball, I also signed Halle up for a "busy bodies" class.  Basically, they just play fun games with an awesome teacher.  For this one, she dumped an entire bag of colored balls on the floor then the kids ran around and picked up the color that matched their bucket.  Halle loves this class!

We took the girls to Bubble Fest at the Science Spectrum.  The main event was this bubble show which was interesting, but the girls got restless and we didn't quite make it until the end.

The best part was when he put these kids in a bubble!

The girls got to make their own mini bubble wands,

and play with some bubbles themselves!

I had too many eggs in our fridge and my dad made the mistake of suggesting I make a lemon meringue pie with them.  So I did.  And we ate the whole thing (not in one day).

The girls play with legos a lot and begged to take a picture of something they built:

And this cutie keeps on growing!

I finally got around to something I've been putting off forever.  Going through all the pictures the girls have drawn for me.  And by girls, I mostly mean Eve.  She started probably 5 months before Cora was born and would draw me tons and tons of pictures or notes to help me feel better :)  She's sweet like that.  And I've been saving them all, until the stack got so ridiculous that she and I went through it, picked out a couple of favorites, and said goodbye to the rest.

Once that was done, I had to go through Eve and Halle's school papers and do the same thing.  So. Many. Papers.  Now I do it on a weekly basis and I've explained to them both that we can only keep things occasionally.

On Saturday, the 22nd, we drove 3 1/2 hours to Wichita Falls to see my brother Evan get married!  Long story, but he's in the Air Force and they needed to get married quickly before he finished tech school so she'd be allowed to go with him when he reports to Japan in December.  So we drove out but were a little early, so grabbed a snack at McDonalds.

Then waited in the guest parking lot of the base for 2 1/2 hours with Greg (our cousin) and Stuart.  Waited and waited only for Evan and Diana to call off the wedding - she got cold feet?

So we went to dinner at Cracker Barrel (which was a disaster with the girls) then drove home :).

Evan texted the next day to say they were ready and were getting married.  We didn't make it out again....

Andrew's been playing on an inter-mural football team through the law school (I think it's with the journal he works for) so we decided to go to one of his games.  We were ill prepared.  We had just come from the girls t-ball class, so stopped and grabbed McDonalds for dinner to eat at dad's game.  He neglected to tell me they play on turf where food/drink is not allowed.  Neither are strollers.  The workers said they'd let us on this once, but to be careful.  We then walked 10 minutes across all the fields to the farthest one where Andrew's team was playing.  We got to watch Daddy make two touchdowns!

I spread out our blanket, passed out the food, and threatened the girls with death if they spilled anything.  We made it about 6 minutes before Abigail grabbed Andrew's drink out of the stroller and dumped the entire thing - the ENTIRE thing - on the turf.  I lost it.  I packed all the girls up and we left (after using our blanket to soak it up the best I could).  And hiked 10 minutes back across all the fields with three screaming girls in tow (Abigail was the only one not crying, and the only one who should have been!).  Not a pleasant experience.

But to end on a good note - Eve's school pictures came!  I only ordered two because I wasn't sure I'd even like them (why should I have to order before I even see how they turn out???).  Our smart little cutie, Eve!
