Cora's 2nd Birthday!

Cora's been excited for her birthday for a while!  The first thing she said to me when I walked into her room that morning was, "Have to go to my birthday party!"

She was excited to find some decorations outside her bedroom door!

Cora walked around for the next couple of hours saying, "Now it's my birthday party!"

We started the day off by cleaning the church.  Some of us cleaned more than others....

Although not totally from lack of trying.

Then home for some cheesy eggs and fruit!  One of Cora's favorites, but she must have been overcome with excitement because she didn't eat much.

Finally it was time for the long awaited swim party!  We went to the Texas Tech leisure pool and for a Saturday morning in June, it was actually a little chilly.  And windy.  Go figure!  But that didn't stop us from having a blast!

Cora's favorite place to hang out was on the wading deck.

And the splash pad!

The older girls went around and around and around the lazy river with Daddy while I mostly sat with Cora.  So everyone was happy!  Except for after the fact.  Someone (*cough*) forgot sunscreen so we all got a little fried.  It was cloudy and cool while we were there so we didn't notice for several hours.

We love Cora's swim party!

It was a long walk back to the car since Cora didn't want to be carried.

After a nap, Cora got to try to find her presents that afternoon, hidden around the living room.  She did surprisingly well, and with numerous reminders, her sisters practiced some self-restraint in not giving them away.

Cora wanted to open each present (and sometimes play with it for a bit) before finding a new one, so we let it drag on for some time.

Lots of helpers!

Cora's largest present was an orange bouncy horse that immediately became a hit with all the girls.  Fingers crossed for no broken bones!  (It happened to some friends in the ward shortly after they got one....)

"I'm two!"

Since Cora's birthday was the day before Father's Day and we can't (I mean shouldn't) eat insane amounts of dessert, Cora and Andrew shared a cake - better than anything cake!

Blow!

It's yummy!

Here are some stats about Cora at age 2:

-She's ridiculously adorable!
-Is very articulate, which is irresistible in her little girl voice
-30 lbs (80th percentile) and 34 in (60th percentile)
-Loves nursery class since Mom is in there with her
-Loves to sing and dance; her favorite songs to listen to in the car are The Greatest Showman (Rewrite the Stars) and Moana (How Far I'll Go)
-Sleeps in her crib at night, but in Abigail's "big girl bed" for naps
-Naps once a day, around 11am, for 1 1/2 - 2 hours
-Has 10 teeth: 4 in front on top and bottom, gaps where her canines should be, then 4 molars
-Is still cursed with multiple ear infections (has one now), but was not recommended for ear tubes
-Loves playing in the bath, especially by herself
-Has started jumping on both feet, mostly to show off to Mom or Dad
-Wears size 2T clothes mostly, with some 3T shirts, size 6 shoe, and size 5 diapers
