Grandma Jane's funeral was on Friday, March 15th, at the funeral home. Even driving from Layton, we arrived a little early which was a feat.
(Any photos in the post that look professional were taken by Kayla.)
The girls were very interested in her body and we had lots of good talks about body vs. spirit. Cora still talks about it.
Halle quickly became very emotional and cried for a least an hour because she was sad that Grandma had passed away.
The girls enjoyed spending time with their cousins.
And Eve especially enjoyed her time with Uncle Dennis.
Nolan had a throw up incident so was naked until he borrowed an outfit from Seth. Seth had a poo-through later that day so it was a good thing I'd packed two extra outfits!
It was so good to be with family, and to meet some of the Griffin family for the first time!
It's hard for little kids to be still for long....
The funeral had had a bowl of mints on the entry table - guess how many were left by the time we left???
Zoey wouldn't come for a picture, but here's the other big cousins. Plus three little babies, not pictured.
Eve talking to Grandma Smith's sister, Aunt Linda.
Nolan's rocking Seth's outfit!
Uncle David (Grandma Smith's eldest sibling) with a couple of Andrew's cousins.
These two are best buddies!
Immediately after the viewing was the funeral.
Squishy Dallin and Cora faces!
Then on to the cemetery where Grandma Jane's grandsons were the pall bearers.
Someone had arranged a 21 gun salute in honor of Grandpa Griffin because apparently there wasn't one at his service years ago?
The whole group!
All the siblings except Aunt Teresa who wasn't able to make it down from Washington.
Grandma Smith with all her grandkids! 11 and counting!
The 2016 triplets :)
The big girls :)
And the 2018 babies, with baby Rachelle.
Eve's middle name comes from Andrew's sister, Rachelle, who passed away when she was just a few months old. This was Eve's first time at Rachelle's grave.
All the cousins, mostly Smiths :)
Siblings!
Kayla's brother Troy stopped by and kept the kids entertained with french fries from his pockets....
So glad we could all make it to the special family occasion!
It was chilly and the little kids were getting super cranky by the end, so my phone kept at least two of them occupied.
After the burial, we all went to Los Hermanos in Orem for lunch.
Eve and Uncle Dennis worked on her place mat games together.
Our kids and Eric and Kayla's shared a big plate of nachos and barely made a dent in them!
Despite how much fun it looks, about half of the party ended up with food poisoning. :( Luckily none of us did!
Being silly as we wait in the car while Andrew was visiting with his cousins.
We're grateful for Grandma Griffin's life and for her and Grandpa Griffin accepting the gospel years ago. Their decision changed everything for our family! So glad we could celebrate her that week!
