Downtown Dallas

Before we could leave Dallas, I had to take pictures of what I've been up to every day at work during my lunch! Ok, not every day, but from time to time, I'd get a chance to go out for a walk around the downtown. It's no river walk, but it does have its moments....

This is the front entrance to my building - which happens to be AT&T's corporate headquarters so it's all fancy!

Here's the area out front where I could sit on the benches and try not to get pooped on by a bird. One drawback to lots of trees....

That's a tall building! I worked on the 18th floor.

I've done a great deal of walking around the downtown area, so besides my building, here are some of my other favorite places to walk past:

I'm actually not sure what this is (I couldn't find a sign), but it's a cool area with tons of longhorn statues. It's in close proximity to a police.....thing....(not a station, but I saw some kind of policemen graduation ceremony being held there), so maybe it has something to do with that? If anyone knows, feel free to tell me! I just thought it looked cool :)

Literally two blocks from my work is the JFK Memorial. Here are a couple of pictures of that. I was going to say "a couple of shots", but that doesn't seem appropriate....

A shot of the downtown area (part of it):

Ok, and my absolute favorite place in the downtown area - this cool building with fountains all around the base! It was like stepping out of a concrete jungle into a tropical paradise!

And finally, my train stop - only two blocks from my office. I spent a lot of time here!

I enjoyed working in downtown Dallas (not quite as much as downtown San Antonio). I'm just glad that here in Michigan, I don't work in downtown Detroit! (More on our move to Michigan in the next two posts....)
