4th of July

We had a small break between our family reunions - just enough time to celebrate the 4th of July! It's one of my favorite holidays, I must confess (besides the obvious ones like Christmas and Easter). I love summer, bbq's with family, parades, fireworks, and mostly - I love this country!

Anyway, we got up semi-early on Monday, the 4th, to go watch the Provo parade. My family had gone early and gotten seats right at the beginning of the parade, so we just went and joined with them (thanks to Andrew's mom for dropping us off/picking us up so we didn't have to worry about parking or walking far in the heat!).

We made it just in time to see BYU's own President Samuelson - just a couple of feet from where we were seated! I might, or might not, have yelled something along of the lines of "Woowoo! President Samuelson!!!" It got a smile out of him!

Eve got to watch the parade from the best seat of all! We were lucky, because it was overcast until just before the end, so we didn't have to worry about overheating.....

Meeting Uncle Merrill for the first time! Jamie and Darci weren't feeling well, so stayed home from the parade. :(

It was nice to have so many people in one place - we could just pass Eve around! Here she is with Aunt Jo Ann!

Ok, I might have freaked out a little when the BYU float came by. And who doesn't love Cosmo! (Kelly, try to control yourself when you see how AWESOME this picture is!) Cosmo was doing basketball tricks, and I asked Andrew to try to get a picture. How good is he!?!

Eve couldn't handle all the excitement and crashed before the end - but Grandma was there to cuddle her!

We tried later that day to get some better 4th of July pictures of Eve, but she was very wiggly and they kind of turned out yellow. But you get the idea!

Later that day, we had a delicious bbq with Andrew's family - the perfect end to a great holiday!
