Whew! What a crazy, fun, busy month we've had! I'm finally getting around to blogging about it! We've been all over and seen tons of family and friends!
We started the month by flying out to Utah for two family reunions. How lucky were we that both of our extended family reunions were planned for around the 4th of July and both in Utah - and the dates didn't overlap!
This was Eve's first airplane ride and she did pretty well. We had some fun waiting to board our flight:
We made the mistake of letting Eve play with our rootbeer straw and she LOVED it! We had to take it on the plane with us to avoid a meltdown in public :).
The great thing about flying with a baby is that you get to board first! Which was a good thing, because we had to settle in for a long flight - we went from Detroit to Phoenix, changed planes, then flew to Salt Lake. Eve got really fussy halfway through the first leg of the flight because it was her bedtime. She went to sleep after maybe 20 minutes of crying (sorry fellow passengers!) and the rest of that flight and the second leg to SLC were spent in peace and quiet.
Andrew's parents picked us up at the airport LATE on June 30th and early the next morning it was off to Kaysville for Day 1 of the Smith Family Reunion.
Eve got to meet her Great Grandpa and Grandma Smith for the first time! (I like how Lisa is holding Eve up and trying to stay out of the shot :) ).
The family reuion was great! It was so fun to visit with everyone and there were so many awesome things to do! The only setback was the HEAT! It was crazy hot! And many of the activities were outdoors....that didn't stop Andrew from getting in some soccer time with his cousins, though....
Eve and I had a different idea of how to enjoy ourselves: in the shade! They had a few little wading pools set up for the kids and I found one that was unoccupied and let Eve splash around a bit. She was in heaven! I didn't, however, bring a swim diaper for her, so her diaper literally disintegrated. My bad! She didn't seem to mind.
Spending some quality shade time with Great Grandma Griffin:
Four generations: what a good looking family!

After a fun afternoon in the sun, we headed into the cultural hall of the church for some tasty lasagna and an evening of games. We stayed in Provo with Andrew's parents and since we had an hour + drive ahead of us, chose not to stay too late. Plus, we knew there was more fun to be had the next day and we needed to rest up for it!
Stay tuned for the Smith Family Reunion - Part 2!
