Easter is one of my favorite holidays as we celebrate our living Savior and we made sure to enjoy the time this year! Maybe almost too much!
On Saturday morning, Andrew went to play ultimate frisbee with friends from church and then to help someone move, so the girls and I had to begin the fun without him.... :(
Pink pancakes! Pink is a good color for Easter!
After Andrew got home, we packed up and drove up to Anna to be with the Klosowsky family! It was a big group and tons of fun! Eve and Halle were a bit shy at first, but soon warmed up to everyone and were basking in all the attention!
Kate, Ben, and Jane (my cousins) played so nicely with Eve and Halle and I swear Aunt Jana and Aunt Alicia were fighting over Halle's attention all day! ;)
The weather was perfect (or even a little warm!) for playing in the backyard:
And just like that, it was time for a delicious dinner, thanks to Grandma!
When we couldn't eat anymore, we rounded up the kiddos for an Easter egg hunt. These two were super excited to wear their Easter hats from Grandma Janet. (You'll notice in many of our Easter pictures that Eve is obsessed with this hat....)
Let the hunt begin!
Halle was content to hold one in each hand. Who needs more than two?? But Aunt Alicia was there to help her know better :)
After the kids had successfully completed their sweeping search for eggs, and after they had taken stock of their loot, we decided an evening at the park was in order - a great decision it turns out! The kids had a blast!
And finally, when we couldn't stand any more fun, and it was WAY past bedtime, we said our goodbyes to the family and headed home. The girls both slept in the car, but we woke them just long enough when we got home to set out their Easter baskets.
Easter morning, what should they discover but that their baskets were missing! So they obediently began searching....
Halle had some help finding hers:
Eve managed fairly well on her own, and only needed slight coaching to give the dryer a second look. That Easter bunny sure is tricky!
Halle actually found Andrew's basket before Andrew and Eve got up and stole a piece of candy from it. Haha, and she still couldn't find it again when the time was right for basket searching. Silly girl!
The craziness of the day before seemed to have lingering side effects cause we had a fair amount of this going on Sunday morning (just so you don't think life is all roses around here):
But we worked through it and managed to take a picture that had BOTH girls wearing their Easter dresses. Eyes open, looking at the camera, and smiling was too illusive...
We had to bring the girls home early from church because both were sick by this point (that probably had something to do with the crankiness of the morning). Actually, all of us were under the weather :(. After a fair amount of rest, we mustered the energy to use the plastic eggs we had for our own little indoor egg hunt.
Halle still loved just holding the eggs!
Eve's a pro by this point and realizes the more she finds, the more candy she gets! Notice the hat :).
And finally, as our last Easter activity, we helped Eve color eggs after Halle went to bed. She did very well and we were quite pleased with the results!
This one had a little slip and didn't last as long as the others....
The finished products!
We are so thankful for this holiday to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior and the life he brings to each of us!
