April Stuff

Here's everything else we did in April!

Our flowers bloomed!  They only lasted a few days, but they were very beautiful!

Play time at the Science Spectrum!

This is a cool topography sand table at the museum that updates as you move the sand around.  Fascinating for the girls and me!

Abigail loves to eat her oatmeal dry.  Yum?

Ice cream after being good at Costco!  I spend $1.45 for one serving and Costco nicely splits it into 4 small cups for me.  Perfect serving size for little girls!  (Side note: I'm sad because now Costco doesn't offer the swirl ice cream anymore - just vanilla, as of May.)

Things get a little crazy when Daddy gets home!

Apparently Abigail's not the only one who like to eat her corn on the cob raw.

This is her second one....

Crazy hair post-nap!

Fun times at joy school - making treasure maps as we learned about the letter 'X'.

Cora loves playing in the bath by herself and it doesn't happen often so she extra enjoys it!

Cleaning up after a ward chili cook-off and dance.  Good thing Andrew is so strong!

Cora was less helpful....

Fussy face!

Cora took a cup of grape juice on Abigail's bed.  Ah!  (Luckily, it all came out in the wash.)

The girls love to build all sorts of creations, then use my phone to capture the memory.

Speaking of Abigail's bed, when we went to check on her one night before we found that she'd chosen some reading material from the bookcase in her room: an old atlas and the sleeve from a Beethoven CD in her bed.

Later that evening, she came out to go to the bathroom, sat on the toilet for a minute, then shuffled back to her room with her pants around her ankles, stating that she needed a "book to read".  We had to laugh when she returned with Final Fantasy video game guide.  She sat there on the toilet looking through it until she was done!

I'm not even joking - on the same night, we found Eve asleep in our bed with her choice of reading material:

Andrew's graduation announcements came and were sent out!  Apparently a few of them were blank on the inside and I didn't notice.  Oops.

On April 11th, the girls were insistent that it was finally warm enough for the pool so I relented and set it up.  They had fun for a bit, but were all complaining of being cold before too long.

Except Cora, who never wanted to get out!

Waiting for Eve to be released.  Lots and lots and lots of days of picking Eve up from school :)

Take two with the pool the next day.  And the girls found a ladybug!

Something wasn't going her way?

"I love goggles!"

And we love Cora!

She seriously would not come inside.

More pictures of the girls' creations.

A visit to prairie dog town to see if the babies were around yet!  And nope, they weren't, but we still had fun.  We had to make several trips over the next month before we finally saw the babies.

Creations!

Eve read her first super long chapter book - Land of Stories!  It was 400-something pages.  She's since read book 2 of the series as well, and is excited to finish all 6 of them!

Abigail really has a thing for the atlas and Beethoven CD sleeve, apparently?  Also, Andrew's old photo albums....

A shot one of my friends sent me from babysitting group at their house.  Cora passed out and their son taking good care of her :)  So sweet!

Eve loves Elsa!

Abigail likes to set up this arrangement in her room.  She went through a phase where she did it every day.  Burp rags, bibs, shoes, and headbands.

More raw corn on the cob!

Perfect for dueling!

Eve's work from art class one day, out on the basketball court at her school.  Almost done with 1st grade!

Abigail got a finger poke at our WIC appointment to check her iron levels.  She was not a fan.

Play group at the mall!

Abigail had to do steam treatments to help clear up her cough so she could do her MRI.  She loved playing on my phone every night for the 10 minutes of wearing the mask.

We're out of room in the tub!  Luckily, Eve normally showers and it's just the younger 3 when I'm really washing them.  But play baths are a different matter :)

Eve loves to snuggle Cora :)

After seeing her sisters' examples, Cora wanted to take a book to bed too!

Abigail finally upgraded from the atlas and Beethoven sleeve to Hardy Boys.

I love when the girls draw me pictures or write me notes!

And, finally, one day we were out running errands and had just enough time after a Walmart trip to drop off the refrigerated food before going to pick Eve up at school.  I left the girls in the car, ran the food in and made a quick trip to the bathroom, all the time leaving the front door open.  When I came out of the bathroom, there was a bird in the kitchen!  (Ignore the dirty dishes.)  I didn't know what to do!  I've heard it can take a while to get birds out, and we had to leave right then!  I briefly considered just closing the door with the bird inside and dealing with it when we got home, but decided I'd give it one quick try.  When I went into the kitchen to shoo it out, the bird flew into the living room, made a few laps, then went out the front door.  Whew!  Never had that happen before!

Bring on May!
