We started Abigail's big birthday celebration during our weekend in Houston! A warm-up practice for the real thing (thanks Daryn for being willing to share your big day!).
Has it really been a year??? (Some days it feels longer... ;) )
Abigail's official birthday was on Tuesday, the day after we returned from Houston. Most of the house was already packed up, but we still were able to celebrate!
Abigail loved opening her cards and presents!
I couldn't get her to hold still for a picture! I did my best...
It was really hard for Eve and Halle to sit back and let Abigail have all the fun!
Her very own chocolate cupcake for dessert! (The kitchen was packed already so there was no way I was making a cake - also, we didn't have time to eat a whole cake before the move! So fancy store bought cupcakes it was - she didn't seem to mind!)
Have you ever seen such a sweet chocolate face???
"Um, Eve, scoot a little closer, I can't quite reach your cupcake!"
"I want Eve's cupcake!" :(
Haha, despite the craziness, I think Abigail really did enjoy her first birthday - I know we did!
Here are some things about Abigail at age 1:
-Weighs 23 lbs 12 oz (90th percentile)
-29" tall (50th percentile)
-Taking a few tentative steps
-Didn't start sleeping through the night until we moved to Lubbock (where her room isn't right next to ours so maybe she does still wake up at night, but at least we can't hear it!)
-Says "hi" and waves hello and goodbye
-Cries if anyone tries to hold her (or look at her) who isn't Dad, Mom, or her sisters (she gets used to people after 2 - 3 hours of exposure)
-Loves to play with her older sisters and follow them around
-Screams (very loudly) when she doesn't get what she wants
-Loves to use her own silverware and tries to drink from cups
-Is obsessed with the outdoors (too bad we live in Texas)
-Usually takes 2 naps a day
-Climbs up the ladder to Eve and Halle's new bunkbeds (hasn't fallen yet, but we take the ladder down during the day just to be safe)
We're so proud of our big girl and love having her in our family!
