In May, we had the pleasure of having Uncle Evan come visit for a couple of weeks! He joins the Air Force in August, so this was one last adventure for him. He quickly realized just how exciting our lives are :)
He was here for Mother's Day and Grandma and James joined us for dinner - fun times for everyone!
We didn't do too many crazy things while he was here since I was still working, so he mostly hung around the house with Andrew and the girls.
But we did brave a family dinner out to Texas Roadhouse - and we all survived!
Photo bomb, Evan style!
I ordered what I thought were chicken strips - check out the crazy mound of fried....stuff....on my plate! I didn't even make a dent in it!
Our other daring adventure with Evan was a day at the Perot Museum in Dallas. I don't know how much Evan enjoyed it, but our girls had a blast! Especially in the children's room:
A little water play:
Some camping:
Abigail cooked some steaks over the campfire:
Hitching a ride in the back of the farm truck:
Decorating with flowers:
"Please, Mom? One more time in the water???"
Look out!
The girls and I played in that children's section while Evan and Andrew explored the rest of the museum then we converged by the dinosaur to head for lunch!
We walked a few blocks to Klyde Warren Park to hit up the food trucks for lunch.
Turns out there was more to do there than just eat!
After lunch, we headed back for part two at the museum (the cool gray building behind Evan and Andrew).
Racing robots:
Halle is obsessed with helicopters, so she was thrilled to see this one!
Creative build time:
The girls were exhausted (we all were!) by the end of our day, but we had to stop and play on the giant frogs on our way out. There were hundreds of field trip school kids on them earlier in the day, so this was our first chance:
Other than that, we had lots of just fun play time with Evan at our house! He even made us chicken bacon ranch pizza one night! Now a family favorite!
And the girls' favorite game with him was tossing the ball on the stairs:
Thanks for a great visit, Uncle Evan! We love you!
