Brace Yourself....Again....

About 4 weeks after Eve's heel cord diagnosis, Halle followed in her footsteps (get it???).

Halle's legs aren't as bad as Eve's, but the doctor said even though she's borderline now, her case will become advanced like Eve's unless treated.  So we have another cutie pie in day and night braces with physical therapy stretches twice a day!

Halle being casted for her day braces:

She got her night braces right away and these girls were excited to be matchies!

They started her in a smaller size of night brace than Eve wears, but her toes were right to the end, even slightly over, so there was no way those were going to fit for six months!  So we upgraded to the bigger size - same size as Eve!

Halle is our deepest sleeper, by far, and almost never wakes up at night.  We were concerned that the night braces would change that, but not at all!  She is totally rocking it with the night braces!  Still sleeps like a rock every night!

After about 2 weeks, we got the call that her day braces were ready.  And while waiting for the doctor, Abigail discovered her calling in life - "I'm Doctor Abigail!"  (With Eve photobombing....)

Halle insisted on picking the rainbow pattern that I had managed to talk Eve out of.  No changing Halle's mind!  And they do look good on her!

Just for fun, we took her brace pictures in the exact same spot at a local park as I did Eve's.

Halle has had an easy time with her day braces, pain-wise, since her case isn't as advanced.  She still doesn't love wearing them, though, and every time I turn around, she's got them off again!  I feel like I have to nag her all day to leave them on.  Although just in the past couple of days, she's been better about leaving them on, with only one or two small breaks during the day.

As of this writing, Halle has had her night braces for almost 4 weeks and her day braces for 2 1/2 weeks.

Baby brace steps to the six month mark!
