In July, we took our first trip back to Dallas since the move two years ago. Unfortunately, Andrew couldn't join us, thanks to school and work. But the girls and I made the most of it!
My mom had flown out to Dallas to spend a week with my grandma, then we drove out to pay a quick visit, then bring my mom back to Lubbock to spend some time with us!
The car drive was mostly uneventful - and that's not Abigail's finger in her nose; she's eating a cucumber and that's just the way she's holding it. I promise.
We drove out on Saturday morning and stopped on our way into town to have lunch with my friend Juhi from AT&T. The girls loved running around her house and Cora even warmed up enough to let herself be held! And lunch was delicious....so fun to catch up!
We arrived at Grandma Janet's house that afternoon and hit the pool! They'd arranged quiet the little set up for the girls!
On Sunday morning, the girls all got a workout in before church:
Then it was picture time! That's a lot of girls!
I wanted each of the girls to have their own 4 generation picture!
We then moved inside for more pictures, but Cora had had enough.
We went to church at our old ward in Garland and it was so fun to see so many old friends! The girls remembered a few faces!
We swung quickly by the old house after church. It looks so different to me, but I think it's just that they took out the front bushes? Our neighbor at church said the house has sold three times since we left! I couldn't tell if she was counting our sale as one of those three or not, but either way - that's a lot in 2 years! The girls still ask if we can move back to this house when Andrew finishes school.
Remember when Andrew built this fence? Then sometime stole half of it after we had moved but before the house had sold? Good times....
We had a fun afternoon together with Grandma and James - and see, further proof that Cora let someone besides me hold her! Woohoo!
The girls loved playing with the toys at Grandma Janet's house:
We left to head back to Lubbock on Monday morning, since the girls had swim lessons that afternoon, but we enjoyed our quick weekend trip!
The view at a rest stop on the way home. It was nice to have Grandma Larsen in the car with me!
And then we got to enjoy her for another whole week!
