I'm finally finishing out the month of July....only two months behind.....
On Sunday, July 2nd, we arrived at church to discover that the building was unusable (fumes from refinishing the gym floor were too strong), so we held a quick Sacrament Meeting out on the lawn instead. It was so fun! Made us feel like real pioneers to have church outside ;)
Afterwards, we took the girls on a quick walk around the temple and tried to get a good picture of them. You can see that we were not successful:
We do better one at a time :)
Photo bombing!
The next day, we decided to do fondue dinner and dessert, just for funsies!
The girls were more excited about the dessert....
Random bunny hugs from July!
One afternoon, we went to get one of the girls' ice cream treats from the summer reading program!
Some friends in the ward who moved gave us their carpet cleaning machine, so we tried that on all the floors, with moderate results. Certainly nothing compared to the carpet cleaning I'm familiar with from the BYU days!
More pool play!
Fondue leftovers are just as good as the first time!
The girls playing with my phone....
The week of the 10th (happy 8 years to us!), I watched 4 girls from our ward during the day for 3 days while their mom was at girls camp. 8 girls (theirs are basically the same ages as ours) was.....crazy.....and fun and exhausting!
Cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-A means more free food! Moo!
Enjoying our food at soccer. This was also 7/11, free slurpies day, but we didn't make it before they had run out. Next year!
Building forts on the tramp:
Cora loved this cow hat from Chick-fil-A day, and kept wanting to wear it!
I took Abigail in for her big brain wave hearing test on the 13th. I got to hold her while they strapped on the electrodes - which took awhile cause none of the ones they tried were working! Then I held her some more while they did their fancy sensing. We didn't get the results for a couple of weeks, but as I mentioned in her birthday post, she was diagnosed with auditory neuropathy. The next step is for her to see an ENT in October, so we'll see how they decide to proceed.
She had fun playing with the tape.
Eve's friend Anna Rose from our ward moved to a new house outside our ward boundaries. Eve was so sad to see her go and very disappointed that we missed her little goodbye party in their primary class while we were in Dallas. So we had Anna over one afternoon instead!
The girls made slime:
"It's so fluffy!"
And played in the pool!
We were going to do the easy bake oven, too, but ran out of time. Hard to say goodbye to friends!
Andrew entertaining the kids with a book on our babysitting group night.
I can't remember why we bought beds for these girls. They did this themselves! And this is not an isolated incident; it's not unusual to find them on the floor when we go in to check on them. Or they end up on the floor in our room.
Look who started to climb! She kept ending up on top of the water bottles, so we had to relocate the lincoln log tub - it was too perfect as a step!
Abigail makes us laugh every day.....and cry.....
Sitting in a big girl booster! Only temporarily because I hadn't cleaned out her high chair. Look how grown up she is!
Playing in the rain!
We didn't do much for Pioneer Day (I dropped the ball on that one), but in the week following, as we were reading the Friend magazine, the girls got all excited about doing a Pioneer Family Night. So we did it a week after the fact, but was still a blast! We read a pioneer story from our family history for a lesson, and made pioneer wagons for activity/dessert. The girls kept asking every night a the next few days if we could do it again.
Cutest pioneers ever!
And we brought the slide inside for Cora to try and haven't looked back! She loves it - mostly climbing up, unfortunately. And Abigail likes to push her down it. But other than that.....
She climbs up the ladder, sits on the top, and waits for someone to come hold her hands so she can go down. I once heard her hollering and came to check to find her on the top of the slide, clinging to the nearby couch as she was starting to slip down. Silly girl!
And on to August! Lets see if I can finally get caught up???
