Our First Visit to the Amarillo Zoo

Amarillo has a little zoo that is just perfect in size! It takes about an hour at a casual pace to see the whole thing and it's got all the big "must-see" animals. Yay! And an annual pass is only $55 so we can go anytime we want!

Our first excursion was with friends from church and was during the day, so Eve and Halle were at school. The younger kids and I had a great time!

Look at all the bison!

Yeah. Too big for my tastes.

These lions are awesome! Like clockwork, the male stands up and roars a few times every hour. It's amazing and the girls always like to try to see if they can make him roar.

There's Perry, the bear!

Lions, tigers, and bears - oh my!

Seth and Charlie (our friends the Howes) supervised from their strollers.

I'd like to think this picture needs no caption. At least there's no kid-friendly caption I can come up with. Donkeys are so intriguing! :)

You can also get the turkeys to gobble back at you if you try hard!

Little girls love ponies!

And we ended with our now favorite - feeding leaves to the goats. Never gets old!

Lots more zoo trips to come! It's a nice outdoor space that I can take Abigail, unlike the local children's museum :(. Our membership to that one will have to wait until she's done with chemo, I'm afraid.
