After cleaning up camp and leaving the reunion, we drove to Salt Lake City to meet up with some of Grandma Larsen's family! Uncle's Phil and Reid and families were in town for a couple days getting ready to head up to Yellowstone so we met up at Temple Square for a quick tour and lunch. And by quick, I mean quick!
Hanging out at the Gateway Mall (is that what it's called?) waiting for everyone to arrive.
The Brunsons got there first! Cora and Maddie liked window shopping at the Disney store.
It was so good to see everyone! And it was hot! Our group consisted of me with the four kids, the Brunsons, Grandpa and Grandma Larsen, Uncle Evan, Uncle Phil and Aunt Alicia, and Uncle Reid and Aunt Jana with their kids, Kate, Ben, and Jane. Quite a crowd - but we didn't lose anyone!
As everyone does, the girls LOVED Aunt Jana!
After a quick walk around the temple, we stopped for lunch at the cafe in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was very full, but we managed to snag a big table for our whole group!
So, so, so much fun to see some of the Klosowsky family! We love them so much and don't get to see them often (thanks a lot, New Jersey).
Hanging out in the lobby before heading back out to finish our tour of Temple Square!
The girls hanging out with Jane! Remember how she was born when I was living with Reid and Jana in New Jersey?
We scared her parents a bit because Jane went with us up to see the statue of Christ ahead of the rest of the group, because me and our four kids had to leave in a few minutes to head to the airport (Smiths were arriving from Brazil!) and we wanted to see it before we left. Everyone was a little nervous when they couldn't find Jane and Reagan!
We met up with Aunts Laura and Lisa (and cousins Maren and Zoey) for a few minutes before heading to the airport. Seth was feeling shy....
All this beauty is overwhelming! And relaxing....
Time to say our goodbyes (until dinner that night at Kelly's house):
Seth actually let Aunt Jana and Aunt Alicia hold him! Just for a minute, but still!
While we headed to the airport for a couple of hours, the rest of the group finished walking around Temple Square. That evening, we all met back up at the Brunson's house for a yummy dinner! Seth was a little overwhelmed by so many people, so found a place to hide.
It was either that or torment Blade.
He even got a few minutes with the Uncles!
A quick ride before bedtime!
And a toss in the air from Grandpa:
The next morning, Sunday, August 4th, Eve went with Grandpa and Grandma and Reagan to meet the Klosowskys for Music and the Spoken Word. They had a great time and when they got back, we had the car all loaded and we headed out, on our way to Amarillo, via what was supposed to be an overnight stay in Broomfield.
Little did we know.....
