Hello Amarillo

Friday, December 7th, was the day we officially closed on our house and became home owners once again!

Moving is the best.  Especially three days before Christmas.  However, by the time the kids and I arrived on Saturday evening, all the unloading was done and in fact, we just met Andrew at the U-haul place on our way into town.  He'd just dropped off the truck.

Then we went to the house and discovered lots of mazes!  Heaven for kids!

The living room:

Maybe less so for parents.

The play room:

Dining room:

Living room from the dining room:

The house has five bedrooms, four on one side, then one room by the kitchen.  We had originally planned on having all of us together on the one side of the house, but the room by the kitchen was so cute and girly!  We let Eve and Halle choose and after much deliberation, they decided they'd strike out on their own and be by the kitchen.  They really wanted that desk!

Seth taking his first nap in his new room.

The master bedroom before it got bombarded with everything I don't want to unpack (still is).

The bedroom hallway view from the master.  Seth's room is the first door on the right, followed by the bathroom, then the extra room straight ahead, Abigail and Cora's room on the left, then the living room on the left (where the light is coming from.)

Abigail and Cora's room.  Their's in the biggest room, but will need some paint help.  When we get things all in order, the girls will each get to pick the colors and help paint their own rooms.

The guest room.  You can see why the girls chose the purple room :)

The view from the play room into the living room.  Stuff everywhere!

Abigail and Cora's first night in their new room!

The next day was Sunday and just Sacrament Meeting since it was almost Christmas.  Andrew stayed home with Halle, who had thrown up, and Seth.  During the meeting, Eve showed me the cursive she was practicing on the boogie board.  Um.....

While we were at church, Andrew got to work setting things up, including Seth's new bouncer, which was supposed to be for Christmas.  Guess I forgot to mention that.  Close enough, right?

During the unpacking process, Andrew let each of the girls go up in the attic with him, apparently with various levels of delight.

And that's the new house!  Hopefully Amarillo grows on you eventually?  3 months down......??? to go.
