Abigail's second 6 week round of chemo started on Tuesday, November 12th. We were getting pretty used to spending our Tuesdays at the hospital by now! Shows and snacks were our lifeblood!
Week 2 was on the 19th and also went well!
And on the 26th, we had some extra special visitors! (Side note - I did wash Abigail and Cora's clothes between weeks. They just kept wearing the same outfits for some reason that month!)
Grandma Larsen was in town and had already been out to see her mom in Dallas with Eve. Tuesday was a jam packed day, mostly on Grandma's part. We sent Eve and Halle to school that morning, then Grandma accompanied us to the clinic to get the chemo process started. Once we made it over to the hospital, she left to join Eve and Halle at school for Grandparents Day. After they did lunch and the bake sale, she checked them out and they all came to the hospital to hang out for a bit!
Then Grandma took all the kids home and Abigail and I finished up her chemo.
And just like that, we hit week 4 on December 3rd and finished round 2!
And Seth got to try some Sprite :)
Entertaining a 1 year old for hours on end in a hospital room week after week is no joke!
After every other short round, Abigail would get an MRI to check the tumor's status. So on December 18th, after the two weeks of break that ended round 2, we did another MRI! With Cora and Seth along for the ride....
Now that we would go to the clinic first and have Brenda access Abigail's port, the MRI's were going much better! And Abigail was able to do them without sedation, just holding still for the 20-30 minutes while watching a movie of her choice on the cool new tv glasses the hospital had!
We tried to wait patiently while she was in the machine.
Overall, we survived and were looking forward to the rest of an almost four week break this time (thank you Christmas!)
