Christmas in Colorado - Part 1

On Friday, December 20th, after the girls' school parties, we loaded up the car and drove north to Broomfield for Christmas!

On Saturday we got lunch at Cafe Rio and ice cream at Chick fil A!

Seth helped Grandpa with the meat for dinner....

While everyone else played in the yard with the Baldwins, who had come to visit!

Uncle Eric provided endless rides on the tether ball pole - with no injuries sustained! Eve went first!

Cora's version of playing with Dallin was letting him chase her around.

Halle's turn on the pole!

And some indoor play with Travis too before the Baldwins had to head home.

That evening my cousin Barbara and her family spent the night, on their way to somewhere for Christmas. It was a lot of kids and a lot of fun! Watching Uncle Andrew play video games - why do the kids always love this?

Some time around the fire that night with Grandpa:

Cora checking out the sunrise with Grandpa the next morning before church.

And Abigail got to help make breakfast!

While Seth did his best to spread the Christmas cheer.

Saying goodbye to Travis before he heads to church! He was a big hit with his cousins.

And with Aunt Sharon!

Now we were just passing time waiting for the Brunsons to arrive!

Which they eventually did! In the morning, the kids wasted no time getting started on Christmas-y activities. First up, making snowflakes!

Kelly got some looks when we took Travis and Seth to Costco that afternoon - especially since she was also pregnant. Good luck explaining three kids that close together in age....

On Christmas Eve we hit up the rec center!

Seth hated the water. He clung to either Andrew or I the whole time, crying. He slightly relaxed by the end, but by no means enjoyed himself. Funny, cause the water was warm and he loves baths. But not swimming, apparently.

Cora had a blast, though!

Seth was more in his element after we dried off and played at the play area. Best buds just going for a drive.

We'd worked up quite an appetite so it was time to head out!

And pick up happy meals for the kids for lunch! Swimming, happy meals, and a movie make for a pretty great day!

And did I mention it was Christmas Eve? Jammies picture!

And one with Travis! It's hard to get that many kids to all smile for a picture, so this is the best we got.

That evening we did a little nativity skit. Eve and Andrew were Mary and Joseph:

Reagan, Daryn, and Halle were the angels!

The others were shepherds and wise men and did their best, with a little supervision...

We had some serious attitude problems by bed time, but managed to get the stockings hung, but not with much care.

And a traditional Christmas Eve picture :)

Christmas morning came bright and early, with kids eager to see what was in their stockings! Santa did not disappoint!

Grandpa got right to work in the kitchen.

With a little help and lots of observation.

When all the cousins were up the real chaos, I mean fun, began!

Eve got footie pjs!

Eric and Cassidy got us an awesome blanket!

And Grandpa got a tie made out of wood:

After a full day of celebrating the birth of our Savior with family, we were pooped! And Seth not sleeping well only compounded the problem. Time for some rest!
