Sharon Knee Surgery

Back in like May 2019 my left knee, which has given me problems for years, took a turn for the worse. I couldn't bend it very much and it was painful to walk on. I dealt with it for a few months, but by September, was ready to figure what was going on! My doctor referred me to a specialist who did an MRI and told me my meniscus was torn in two places and would require surgery to fix.

We scheduled it for November 1st since Grandma Smith and Aunt Lisa would be in town to help with the kids. Andrew had to work so Lisa took me to the surgery center and Grandma watched the kids at home!

I was in a pretty good mood for my first every surgery until I woke up afterwards and learned that my meniscus was in fact not torn, so all they did was clean things up a bit in my knee. Are you kidding me??? What a freaking waste of my time and lots of money. I was not amused and was in a pretty bad mood for several days. My leg was wrapped from thigh to ankle for a few days but I was able to walk as tolerated with crutches.

It didn't look so bad once all the wrapping came off, but it was plenty painful for a few weeks.

Now it's been almost 9 months and I'm still not happy about the whole thing. The good news is I can bend my knee now but I still don't have feeling back in that area since the surgery - it's just numb and tingly which is super annoying. Shrug. I guess that's how things go sometimes.
