The next day, Sunday the 8th, was not only Eve's birthday but also the Christmas party for the pediatric oncology patients. We had debated back and forth on attending or not since it was on Sunday, but ended up deciding to give it a try.
And then Halle and Cora woke up throwing up that morning. So just me, Eve, and Abigail ended up going to the Christmas party. We had a great time!
Outside they had a robot from the bomb squad greeting people! Robot handshakes!
And a quick peak inside a fire truck. Abigail told the firemen there that she had been fire chief in September and promptly told them all they were fired. Old habits die hard.
The party theme was Whoville and boy did Brenda and the Panhandle Angels Foundation outdo themselves!
It was packed inside, but seating was assigned and each spot had a bag of little gifts specific to the assigned child - including one of each of our five kids! And the bags were color-able for extra fun!
Santa even came!
They called us up by tables to get food (yummy nachos!) and then by family to visit Santa and get presents!
Unfortunately, the grinch was there and Abigail was terrified of him! She did agree to one picture, though.
Visiting Santa! And not only did we have to carry their presents around, but also the ones for Halle, Cora, and Seth - which were large.
Eve got a gift card so she could pick her own present later! And I never realized it, but apparently she never spent it! She just told me she still has it! Oops....
Abigail got a flying owl toy!
Sadly, she was also "grinched" by the grinch. He came by and rubbed his green beard/chin on the back of her hand and told her it would eventually turn her whole body green. She bought it hook, line, and sinker and was super upset until I washed it off with a baby wipe right away.
Before we left the girls each got their face painted - first time ever for both of them! Abigail chose snowmen and Eve picked a butterfly.
They turned out great!
After all the fun, we headed home to surprise the other kids with their presents! Cora got two baby dolls and a huge stuffed unicorn!
Halle got a Calico Critters house and figures!
Cora with Uni! It takes up most of her bed....
Seth was super excited to see what he got!
A rockin' rider pony!
The oncology office and Panhandle angels were so generous. We can't believe how many fun things they do for the kids/families and we are very grateful!
Even feeling sick, Cora slept better that night (in our room in case she threw up again) with Uni by her side. :)
