Girls' Night

During the Priesthood Session of General Conference, we had a Girls' Night and made sugar cookies!

Halloween sugar cookies!

Yum!

This is embarrassing to admit, but I want to remember it, so I'm writing it down.  The girls were extra....active....that evening and I feel like I was yelling at them almost the entire time (I really wasn't the entire time, but it felt like it to me....).  I was exhausted by the time I got them all in bed, and feeling pretty negative about how the evening had gone.  As I was saying prayers with Eve she said, "thank you that we could have a fun girls' night with mom and make sugar cookies".  It just melted my heart and made me realize how grateful I am to spend times like this with my girls and how much harder I need to work at being patient.  Families are the best and I look forward to forever with mine!

State Fair of Texas 2014

I remembered my camera this year!!!

So here is our day at the State Fair in pictures:

Turns out that the auto show was one of the girls' favorites - they got to 'drive' three cars!

And talk to Hank the robot.  He called them 'tiny humans'!

The other best part was feeding the animals!  They were HUNGRY this year and the girls loved having them eat out of their hands!

I didn't take pictures of it, but they also had a giraffe, camels, zebras, pigs, kangaroos, a turtle, and all kinds of other weird animals that I'd never heard of.  It was awesome!

Next it was on to the hands on farm where the girls got to feed the (fake) animals, plant seeds, pick "fruit", etc, then trade in their goods for "money" to buy a treat in the general store.  Halle didn't quite grasp the concept and got very upset about having to give away her wool, eggs, vegetables, and grain, until she realized she got a package of cookies for doing so.  Then she was good.  Who doesn't love cookies???

The merry go round was a big hit, as usual!

As were the indoor trains....

Eve was actually old enough to go on a few rides by herself and bravely did so! 

Besides the merry go round, this is the only one Halle was tall enough to ride and Eve consented to go with her - what a good sister!

Abigail observed....

We couldn't keep Eve off the rides once she realized how fun they were!

All in all, it was an exciting, and exhausting, day! 

Abigail at 4 Months

So here's the deal on our adorable 4 month old:

-17 lbs 7 oz (94%)

- 26 inches (95%)

-Still sleeping through the night, most nights (she does this weird thing where she'll go to bed for about an hour, then wake up, be up for about an hour, then go back to bed for the rest of the night)

-Rolled over once, but we all missed it, and hasn't done it since

-Talks in the cutest little voice and has the biggest smiles for Daddy and Eve

-Is sadly still very fussy in general and can cry for hours at a time :(

-And, to end on a high note, melts our hearts with her smile!

And what's the best thing about being 4 months old?  Oatmeal cereal!

She did very well on her first bowl of it and ate the whole thing!  She's a fan!

Mommy Eve

I am no longer the only Mommy in the house - introducing Mommy Eve!

She is such a good mom to her dollies (and Halle's) and imitates what I do with Abigail.  At least in this picture they're wearing clothes....most of the time it's commando around here....

Abigail 3 Months

As I get ready to post Abigail's 4 month blog, I realized I never posted her 3 month!

So here she is (was) in all her glory at three months old!

It was around three months that she started laughing and sleeping through the night.  She doesn't quite understand the difference between months and years, so was very excited to be as old as Eve!
