Roly Poly Attack!

I don't know what's going on, but we've had roly polys over-running our house this week!  Andrew sprayed around our back door, windows, and fireplace last night before we went to bed, and that seemed to only spur them on!

I woke up to find them all over the place this morning!

Don't get me wrong, I like roly polys as much as the next person, but this is getting ridiculous.  At first, we'd just sweep them up and put them outside, but there's just too many of them!  Now they go in the garbage, usually courtesy of Eve.  She loves pushing them with her finger anyway, so they roll up, so now we just have  her pick them up and throw them away.  Don't judge.

Let's hope they move on soon!

Uncle Lance Comes to Town

And the fence came down!

We took advantage of the extra set of hands (and legs!) and got started on our next big project.

Eve was more than willing to lend a hand or two....

Halle and I mostly watched.

Random cute picture of Eve:

Here's the pile of stuff in front of the house for the city to pick up: our whole fence and two bushes.

Andrew and Lance spent the next week working on digging out old fence posts and digging new holes for the new posts.  And lots of Home Depot shopping and playing with the girls.  Since I was at work, I didn't get to take pictures of their time together, but from what Eve tells me, they had a blast!  (At least she did!)

Eve and Halle love their Uncle Lance lots!

And I know Andrew enjoyed having some grown up company during the day.  I can't prove it since I wasn't there, but I'm guessing a fair amount of this went on:

:)  Thanks for coming Lance and thanks for all the hard work!

One Happy Mom

Of course, it's hard not to be with the world's greatest husband and these two cuties!

And can I just say that I have the best mom and mother-in-law EVER!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Cinco de Halle!

Warning!  This post contains an overwhelming amount of cuteness that may temporarily overpower your senses.  Be prepared :)

Someone's happy to be halfway to 1!  And since it happened on May 5th, we had double reason to celebrate!

Halle got to sample her first baby food - green beans!  Ah, the anticipation....

This face kind of sums it up:

She didn't love them and I gave up trying to force them down after a few minutes.  Better luck next time!

The rest of us went with fajitas and spanish rice!  (Note the homemade tortillas!)

Ok, time for a Halle photo shoot!

Eve couldn't take it after a few minutes and wanted in on the action.  Halle wasn't sure how she felt about that....

"You're stealing my spotlight!"

And it quickly progressed to this....

Ok, back to Halle....and bunny....

"What?!  There's a cookie coming?!"

A half cookie and half candle, to be exact :)

Eve was happy to assist with blowing out the candle...

Then Halle showed her flexibility to reach for what she wanted...."just a little closer..."

"Got it!"

"Just need to get that candle out of my way...."

"Success!"

Ah, the sweet rewards of being 6 months old!

We hadn't actually planned on letting her eat it, but she was so cute and determined, we couldn't resist!

What happens when you give a Halle a cookie?

Who can say no to a face like that?

And this is what happens when you do say no and take the cookie away :(  Sad girl!

(Don't worry, she quickly recovered)

Everyone was up bright and early this morning in anticipation of a big day!  First up: Halle's 6 month check-up!

Here are her stats:

-17 lbs, 7 oz (70th percentile)
-27 in (87th percentile)
-Has another ear infection (her 3rd)  :(
-So close to crawling that it's quite scary
-Really good now at grabbing things (ex: Eve's hair)

Next up: off to the airport to pick up Uncle Lance!  These two girls can't wait to see him and play until he drops!

And finally, a big girl in her high chair munching on a ritz cracker or three - yum, yum!

And there you go!  Just like that, our baby is six months old!  We love you, Halle!

(Just stop growing up, please!)

Sitting Up!

Halle learned a new skill!

Ok, so it's been a couple of weeks, but we're so proud of her!

"Look, no hands!"

And she loves Eve so much these days!  These two love to play together and Halle cracks up at everything Eve does!

For example, we thought this was pretty cute until we realized the two couch sections were sliding apart.  We didn't want Halle to fall down the crack!

And it's a VERY good thing we caught her before she did, because look what was lurking behind the couch!  I screamed so loud!

For anyone who's wondering, we found another one just like it the next day.  Oh. My. Word.  Time to leave this state of over-sized bugs!

But remember how Halle's sitting up now?  :)  Pretty exciting!
