Drum Roll...
A Taste of Colorado
Yesterday we got a visit from my friend Natasha from Colorado! She was in town for one day only and we got to spend the afternoon with her. Unfortunately, she brought the cold weather from Colorado with her, so it was a little chilly! But we braved the weather and went out to lunch then took a stroll around the mall. ....
Eve was too young to play at the play place in the mall, but that didn't stop us from getting pictures! Eve's charge for the day was to win Natasha over....I think she succeeded!
Andrew has been home sick for three days this week, so he didn't get to go out with us yesterday, but he did snap a cute picture of Eve before bedtime. She loves smiling for Daddy!
Eve was happy because she had a fun day and got to meet another one of Mommy's friends! And she got spoiled with more presents. What a lucky girl!
Bumbo Sittin'
We got Eve a Bumbo chair because she loves to sit, but still can't do it without a little help. Overall, a good purchase! She likes to sit in it, just not for extended periods of time. Who would? So here are the many faces of Eve and her bumbo: .

Yes, she is playing with a diaper. No, it is not a dirty diaper. She helped me carry a stack of them into the living room and wanted to keep one to play with. I didn't see the harm in that. She enjoyed eating it.
Getting to know each other.
I think she's got the hang of it!
A Busy Weekend
We had a full, fun weekend - well, really just Saturday, but I had to start with this picture from Friday night, cause it's just so cute! .
We spent Saturday morning at a friend's in Flower Mound helping paint the exterior of her home. Well, Andrew helped. Eve and I "helped".
Eve helped by being cute and fussing whenever I tried to climb a ladder to paint some trim. So I got a little painting done, but not much. Most of my time was spent with this little girl:
It was beautiful weather, though, and it felt good to be outside! After spending the morning there, we hurried home, got cleaned up, and drove to my grandma's house. My aunt, uncle, and cousins were visiting from NJ and we couldn't wait to see them! Eve screamed for the first couple of hours we were there (tired + gassy; she does that a lot when we want her to make a good impression...hmmm....). After that, she calmed down and got passed around a bit.
Here she is with her great aunts - isn't that funny? They're way to young to be called great aunts!
Aunt Jana and Eve
Aunt Alicia and Eve
That evening, we had a yummy dinner to celebrate Aunt Jana's birthday. Take a look at that spread!
Even Eve got into the celebration :)
Grandma and Eve
Eve with her cousins Kate and Ben (well, if you want to be technical, they're my cousins....). She loved spending time with them and they were so good with her!
We had a great afternoon/evening with them and can't wait to see them again! I didn't get a copy of the group picture on my camera, so I'll have to wait and post it when I can track one down...

Eve's Laughing!
For a couple of weeks now, Eve has been so close to a full belly laugh and we finally got one today! It is the cutest thing EVE-r :). We had just gotten home from Costco and Andrew turned on "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch" by Diana Ross and The Supremes (because we were talking about it in the car and I had never heard it). I was holding Eve and dancing while we watched Andrew dance - she loved it! She couldn't stop laughing for the whole song! I loved it!
I got a little bit of it on camera, so here it is - Eve's first real laugh!

The Luck of the Irish
Isn't this the cutest little leprechaun you've ever seen?

Since this was Eve's first St. Patrick's Day, we celebrated in style! The day started out with a bath....gotta have green water!

Husbands Say the Darndest Things
Some people post fun blogs about things their kids say - well, Eve isn't old enough to entertain us in that way yet. Luckily for us, Andrew is up to the challenge! He has this habit of talking in his sleep and when I'm coherent enough to remember to, I write down the things he says. So, here are our top three favorites right now:
1. "I don't require size. I don't need sagas. I don't need lacas vitas."
(Keep in mind that these usually don't make sense and sometimes he makes up words....)
2. "I know how you managed to make it Sweetie. I know why now. Because the kitness gives you access to the KTL." (Followed by three head nods - he said this one after sat up in bed and was looking at me. Eyes open, but asleep.)
And last night's:
3. "Where is the control? Can you give me a 'm', just in time to....Hey, Monty, you're in charge, just in time...."
I love that he talks in his sleep! It keeps me entertained when I'm up with Eve. You never know what to expect! I'm just wondering who Monty is. And I thought I was in charge! :)

March Madness
This morning, Eve filled out her first NCAA bracket. Since she's still a little young, I had to give her some help. I read the names and she picked teams by the level of animation she showed for each. I must say, she was quite taken with Xavier. But that was nothing compared to her enthusiasm for Wisconsin. She got so excited when I read their team name that she scratched my arm! In the next round, she pulled my finger. So, she's pretty sure that Wisconsin will go all the way - and will beat Xavier in the championship game.

All that bracket-filling is exhausting! And I must say, I'm disappointed in her lack of BYU school spirit. She doesn't think they'll make it past the second round. I blame Andrew. But not to worry, I'm determined to make her a loyal cougar by next year!
Captivated by basketball already...truly her father's daughter.

Make New Friends...
She loves her burg rags! So far, getting her to play with toys instead has had mixed results. She just always goes back to the tried and true! One thing she has definitely not made friends with yet are shoes. I tried putting them on her today. It did not go well. She kicks them off in just a few seconds....I guess she's happy with burp rags and tigger as her friends for now (and Mommy and Daddy, of course!).

3 Months!
Can you believe that Eve is already three months old?! Me neither! I took a bunch of pictures on the big day (Tuesday, the 8th) - I had a hard time narrowing down to a reasonable amount to put on the blog....so....get ready for a lot of pictures! She was so cute! It made the narrowing not go so well...

She's trying to shield herself from danger (...me...?) in this one:

Almost the only time I could get a picture without her fingers in her mouth was when she was napping!

A pretty 3 month smile! I don't know what age it's normal to start laughing at, but she is so close!

Her favorite position right now is sitting up; she just needs a little help still.

She was talking up a storm, so I pulled out the camera to record it. It did not go well. Good thing she's cute!

Such a precious little girl!

Ok, I know that's a lot of Eve, but really, that's all that's going on in our lives. And let's be honest, that's all anyone checks the blog for anyway - pictures of Eve! But in other news, we should find out in the next few weeks where, if at all, we're moving in May. So far, the options seem to be New Jersey, Michigan, Georgia, or Texas. We'll see!

Game Time!
Or not....we had purchased tickets with some friends from our ward to go to the Mavericks game last night. Eve and I got all ready so that we could leave right after Andrew got home from work. We walked over to the train, bought our tickets, and set out! And Eve started screaming...
We lasted through about three train stops before we faced facts and got off. She hardly came up for air that whole time! We couldn't get her to calm down. Probably a combination of being tired, gassy, and not liking the train. We finally got her to quiet down and fall asleep while we waited for a train to take us home. So, we missed the game. Andrew and I aren't particular fans of the team, but were most upset about the wasted money. Ah, the joys of catering to small babies....
Me and Eve all ready for the game that was not....She seems more interested in eating her burp rag than looking at the camera.
.
How can you stay mad at such a cute baby? (Ok, we weren't really mad at all....)
Is she winking at me? And apparently she has a question and would like to be called on.
This morning, Andrew volunteered to dress Eve. This is what he came up with:
Yes, that is a green, flowery onesie with green stripped pants. Pulled up to her chest.
In case you didn't capture the full affect from the first shot, here's a close-up:
A new fashion trend, I'm thinking! She had a diaper blow-out so the outfit didn't last long, sadly...
And finally, here's Andrew and Eve discussing politics. She's very opinionated already!
Oh, So Yummy!
