Two Months!

This little smiley girl is two months old!!!!

Here are some tidbits about Abigail:

- Weighs 14 lbs 8 oz (96th percentile)
- 24 inches tall (96th percentile)
- Smiles and coo's (so, so, so, so, SO cute!!!)
- On average, eats 4 oz of formula every 2 1/2 hours
- Starting to sleep better at night - will do one 6 hour stretch, eat, then go back down for another 4 hours or so
- Still sleeps in her bouncy seat at night, but we're working on transitioning her to the crib (most daytime naps are in the crib and don't last very long)
- Is much less fussy than she was at one month (thank goodness!)

When the Baldwins were here, Candace took some pictures of Abigail - they look more than a little better than my rudimentary efforts! Here are some of my favorites:

Happy two months!!!

Weekend Fun

Last weekend, we had an awesome visit from our friends, the Baldwins.  It's a bit more of a novelty now that they live in CO again!  :(  No more Oklahoma neighbors....

We tried to make the most of the time.  On Saturday, Candace and I took the kids to the park!  All except Abigail, and let me tell you, it was an adventure.  Mostly for me with Eve and Halle because Candace's kids were well behaved.

Halle doesn't care for the swings, but the other four sure did!

These next few look extra good because Candace took them :)

Here's the shot of Halle she got before the meltdown ensued.

Eve spent the entire time (except of the trip down to the lake to feed the ducks - pictured next) on the swings.

And quite happily, too!

The duck feeding looks better in pictures than it actually went (thanks to Candace's skills as a photographer).  I spent the entire time trying to keep my girls from falling the lake.

Halle started out just fine:

But she was getting so close to the water in pursuit of the ducks, I didn't dare let go:

No matter how determined she was:

"Come on, Mom!  You're ruining all the fun!  And embarrassing me in front of my friends!"

If I had two extra hands, I would have had them on this girl, who wanted so badly to touch a duck, she didn't care about the danger.

Luckily, she managed to stay dry :)  And no, she didn't get to touch a duck - not for lack of trying, though!

Our park adventure ended with me carrying Halle, screaming and kicking, under my arm back to the car.  Let's just say I'm sure the other parents there were judging me.

We had a nice day on Sunday, ate way to much, then worked out some energy with a little soccer in the living room.

On Monday, before they had to head out, Candace and I took the kids (the same 5, minus Abigail) to Chick fil A for some lunch and play time.  Lunch went relatively smoothly...

Playtime started out well:

Eve was even brave enough to adventure into the tube tunnels with Nathan and Hannah at her side.  Usually she is either so scared she won't go near them, or if she does find the courage, she gets up there, gets stuck or lost, freaks out and starts screaming and crying.  She did great this time and had a blast!  The trouble came from Halle.

She got sick of the toddler treehouse (from the picture above) after awhile and started climbing up the big kid slide:

This is about as far as she ever made it and since there weren't many kids there besides us, I wasn't worried about it.  It was a super slow slide so it's not like anyone coming down would have run her over anyway.  But I got distracted for a couple of minutes and then realized (of course right as it's time to leave) that Halle had managed to climb all the way up the slide and was now playing in the tunnels up top.  And refused to come down!  I had no way to get her, so sent Eve up after her.  I told Eve the normal rules did not apply and she was allowed to drag Halle to the slide and force her down it.  Eve did her best, but Halle wasn't going easily and it took a good 5 minutes of Eve fighting her before she got her down far enough that I could pull her out the slide.  It was lovely.  Candace's well behaved children were waiting patiently with her in the restaurant for me to round up mine.  Sigh.

But it was so fun to see the Baldwins again!  We enjoyed every minute of our time with them (with a couple of exceptions, noted above).  Oh, and the best quote from their visit?  Courtesy of Nathan: "Our baby is way better than yours."  Haha!  Now, to be fair, Abigail wouldn't stop crying and Levi was very cheerful and content, so I could see where he was coming from ;)

Until next time!

Too much love....

Her big sisters love Abigail so much!

Maybe too much sometimes....

5 Years Down, Eternity to Go....

Last week, Andrew and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!

Since we didn't take any pictures, I'll use an immensely more flattering image taken on the happy day :)

We hoped to celebrate with a quiet (emphasis on quiet) evening at home, and were partially successful.  We  put the older girls in bed early and enjoyed a yummy dinner by ourselves, but then spent the next few hours with a fussy baby who would not stop crying.  Literally, would not stop crying for hours.  Not exactly what we had in mind, but I guess it's to be expected!  (And you can bet I'll be reminding her of this for years to come!)

Here's a few fun stats from our first five years of marriage:
-We've moved four times (San Antonio, TX; Richardson, TX, Clawson, MI; and Garland, TX)
-We expanded our family with the addition of three girls (ah!!!!!!!!)
-We bought our first house
-Andrew received his master's degree from SMU
-We bought our first car together (a Honda Odyssey)
-After working for two different law firms during our first two years of marriage, Andrew was the full-time stay at home parent for three years, in addition to his schooling during the last two
-Except for maternity leaves, I've worked for AT&T the last 5 years

These five years have certainly given us a run for our money and we eagerly look forward to what will come our way next!

First Week of July

We tried to settle into a new routine once it was down to just the five of us....

Lots of soccer watching...

Hugs all around....

Lettuce heads....otherwise known as homemade cabbage patch girl!

And we even attempted a 4th of July celebration.  It did not go well.  We did a little bbq with just the five of us and then were going to check out the city's 4th of July 'spectacular'.  Of course, the camera died after only one picture, but that's ok, because it ended up being super lame with nothing for the girls to do and so ridiculously hot that we left as soon as we'd made the rounds and verified that we weren't missing anything.

We salvaged the afternoon by stopping at McDonald's for ice cream cones to cool off.  That night, Eve and I went out to see fireworks while Andrew stayed home with the sleeping Halle and Abigail.  The fireworks were awesome!  The streets were super crowded with everyone trying to get to see them, so we stopped in the Hobby Lobby parking lot with a lot of other on-lookers and watched from there.  It was a great view and the weather was perfect!  Eve really enjoyed them, although the highlight of the evening was probably her screaming out in excitement, "Look, Mom, Taco Bell!"  The people around us got a good laugh out of that - fast food being more interesting that fireworks....

We (maybe mostly me) were very disappointed to not spend the 4th with family as it's one of my favorite holidays and nothing beats a huge family celebration, but we'll hold out for next year.  We're grateful for this country we live in, the freedoms we enjoy, and as I explained to Eve, the chance to celebrate America's birthday!

Goodbye Grandma Larsen

We are probably the most spoiled family ever!  We had first Grandma Smith and then Grandma Larsen here with us until Abigail was 5 weeks old!

When it finally came time for Grandma to head home, we didn't want to say goodbye!

Eve and Halle had gotten too use to being spoiled - going on walks every day!  And tons of books read, and games played, and yummy food!

Please, don't leave!

Who's going to feed Abigail when you're gone????

We've missed Grandmas (both of them!) very much since they left, but I am happy to report that it's been over two weeks and we're all still alive!  That's about all we can say, but we'll take it!

Abigail's One Month Old!

I realize I'm a little tardy posting this, but the day after Andrew's birthday, this little girl turned one month old!

You'll notice she grew quite a bit since the two week pictures I posted....that's what happens when you eat every two hours!  Seriously, though, Abigail drinks 4 - 6 ounces every 2 - 3 hours.  She's a hungry girl!

At one month old, she weighed in a little over 11 lbs.  She likes to sleep (except from about 9pm - midnight), eat, and cry.  Pretty typical baby!  She's a fairly fussy little girl, though, and does more than her fair share of crying.

But she's so cute, we forgive her....usually....

We're still working on perfecting the intentional smile, but for now, we'll take sleepy, gassy smiles :)

She loves to sit up in the bumbo so she can see what's going on - can't blame her for that cause her older sisters are always up to something fun!

Happy one month, Abigail!  We look forward to many more....now please sleep....

Happy Birthday Andrew!

To celebrate Andrew's 32nd birthday, we ventured out for dinner at Red Robin - no small feat with three little girls!  Needless to say, we ate quickly....

Then it was back home for presents and cake!

We're so lucky to have Andrew as our husband/father and were blessed to celebrate his special day with him!  His girls sure do love him!

Klosowsky Time

It was so nice to have my mom here for a full month!  She was a tremendous help, but unfortunately, I took very few pictures :(

We did manage to squeeze in a four generation shot:

And we visited Grandpa Klosowsky's grave:

Not much, I know, but we're so grateful for any time we can get with our family!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to one great dad!

The night before, we had Grandma and James over for dinner.  Grandma Larsen was still with us and it was a party!

On Sunday, we celebrated with some chocolate trifle and a few poorly wrapped presents.  Yes, I put them in pillow cases.  Don't judge....

We're so grateful for Andrew and everything he does for our family.  We love him so much!  And we have two awesome grandpas too!  Happy Father's Day to all!
