In September, Eve signed up through school to run in a kids' race at a nearby town's Fall Festival. Her idea! She asked, "Who wins the race?" I told her whoever runs the fastest. She replied matter of factly, "That will be me."
Andrew was gone at school, so I took the girls. There was a parade beforehand with lots of candy! The girls were in heaven!
Abigail gathered her five pieces and wouldn't set them down for anything! She kept saying, "Don't steal my candy!" The other girls were filling the bottom of the stroller as fast as they could.

Then we headed over to the festival part of things. Lots of booths and things for sale, but all that interested the girls was the bouncy house and slide. Abigail wouldn't try the slide, but Eve and Halle went several times. That's Halle on the left - she went down like that every time. I guess she knew what she was doing, because another 3 year old in our ward broke her arm on this slide!
Walter the Water Drop was the mascot for the day (theme: conserve water; yes, we live in West Texas). The girls loved the "blue guy".

Time for Eve's race!
Lined up with the other girls - there were so many kindergartners and 1st graders they have to run them in two waves - Eve was in the second.
She did great! It was a 'color dash' because they set off colored smoke along the route, but Eve ran around all the colors - she didn't want to get dirty :)
Eve's legs were sore for a couple of days after her race, but I think she was still glad she did it!
