30 Years Down...

With Father's Day AND his birthday, June is Andrew's month to shine!  We were a bit more celebratory for his birthday on the 25th than we were for Father's Day.  The big 3-0!

My mom had recently joined us in town (more to come on that) so on Saturday before the big day we all went out to eat at Cracker Barrel.  Andrew and my mom went with the tried and true chicken fried chicken while I decided to branch out and try the chicken and dumplings.  It was ok, but I'll definitely be going back to my usual!

Eve made a meal of corn bread muffins (which ended up more on her face and our clothes than not)....

...and Andrew's raspberry lemonade.  She drank 1/2 a glass by herself (this is the lemonade that was too tart for me to even do more than taste a sip!) and Andrew polished off another 3 glasses or so....those two like their lemonade!

Country chillin' :)

We celebrated again on Sunday by going to my grandma's house for dinner, cake, and ice cream.

"Mom!  It's almost Dad's birthday!"

Eve tried to be super sweet as her present to Andrew.  She didn't always succeed...

But she was more than willing to help him open his present!

On Monday the 25th, the actual big day!, my mom made us yummy dinner at home - saucy pork chops and rice!

Unfortunately, our house was a thousand degrees because our a/c had been broken for a week.  So we ate dinner up in our bedroom.  You can tell that this is where we spent 90% of our time.  We all slept in here and just tried to survive.  You can see the little window a/c unit in the back corner that kept us alive.  Seriously.  The house was unbearably hot.

But Eve got to run around all week wearing next to nothing, so even with sweaty hair and a red face, she didn't complain!

We so much enjoyed Andrew's Father's Day cake that we made another for his birthday.  And thoroughly enjoyed it again!

Happy 30th birthday, Andrew!  I can't believe you're in a different decade of life than me!  :)  Love you!
