Apparently I took almost no pictures this Valentine's Day? We started celebrating at the beginning of the month, with each girl decorating an envelope for a mailbox that we hung on their door (or bunk bed in Eve and Halle's case). Then for the next two weeks, we left notes in each other's mailboxes. The girls particularly looked forward to the note and treat that they'd find (most) mornings from Mom and Dad.
On actual Valentine's Day, they woke up to find a big heart by their bed and a box of chocolates. They were excited!

We couldn't find Eve's heart for her picture after school. And it was really bright....
And Cora wouldn't keep her chocolates closed long enough to be pictured - or look at the camera!
The girls made Andrew a valentine card and got him some macadamia nut clusters and he surprised us by coming home early from work with chocolate toffees for me and roses for all of us. We enjoyed a nice dinner of lasagna with cheesecake for dessert. Alas, not homemade on either account this year, but you do what you can, right?
We sure love each other in this family and enjoy having this special day to celebrate together!
