Grandpa and Grandma Smith Come!

Just a few days later was when Grandpa and Grandma Smith arrived! We were so excited to spend some time with them now that they were home from their mission! 

The kids immediately put Grandpa to work playing with them. 

And they came bearing lots of gifts from Brazil, including this hat for Abigail!

Back to play time! 

It was no wonder that Grandpa only made it a couple of days :) before he had to leave to drive back to Utah. At least Grandma got to stay for a few more weeks! 

We cooked....

We visited the zoo....

And it was even all decorated for Halloween!

Watch out! 

Guess what happens to fussy children, Abigail? 

They get their arm bitten off! 

And if you're really naughty....

I promise, we did see the animals too, everyone just wanted lots of pictures with all the fun decorations we hadn't seen before. 

Our friends the Howes were there too so it was quite a party! 

And we got ice cream afterwards! 

The girls had decorated the driveway with pictures to welcome Grandpa and Grandma:

And Abigail drew a picture of Grandma :) 

And when visitors come, of course we had to make Texas sheet cake! Almost too good for Abigail to resist....

All this fun is exhausting! 

We took Grandma to singing time at the library with Miss Maggie while the older girls were at school. Grandma was better at it than Cora.

But Cora got to feed the books to the Halloween book monster! 

We got to play at the park one afternoon when the weather was nice! 

So many little monkies.

Then we made the mistake of going down to see the ducks. 

Everyone wanted to get too close:

And then Abigail and Cora took off running away around the lake and it took us a bit to get them back. They were busted. After one more picture. 

They got to get in the car while the others played for two more minutes. 

Grandma's last Sunday with us, October 27th. She still had a few more days with us, though, including Halloween!

When it finally came time for her to leave us on November 2nd, the girls were not happy. They really wanted her to stay! We all did. Come back soon!
