After our fun with the Brunsons at the beginning of the month, here's some of the other stuff that helped pass the time.
Tickling Seth:
Abigail finished her second chapter book and earned a candy bar!
Cora brought this chalkboard to me and told me, "Look! I wrote my name!" This was the first time she'd done it completely on her own, no prompting or help.
The girls build this mega fort in the living room. And since me, in the recliner was helping to hold it up, I just had to stay put. No complaint here!
This is what 11 years has done to our family - July 10, 2020.
The kids discovered a new way to play with the suction toys.

We finally got our trees professionally trimmed! $800 for all three and he did it by himself in one day. One hot day.
Cora decided she loved her sisters Polly Pocket sets and would play with them whenever they would let her.
All cleaned up and looking good!

The boy across the street, Riley, got a new puppy and brought him over to meet everyone. He was so cute!
We did the official car seat swap in preparation for the new baby and Seth got to switch to front facing! He was a lot more thrilled than he looks.

One time when it wasn't National Ice Cream Day, we made some homemade ice cream just for fun!
Seth was our taste tester. He kept dipping his spoon in over and over as the machine turned. I should have put it on a higher counter!
Abigail modeling one of the scrunchies Uncle Dennis sent in a box for the girls. Soon enough her hair will be long enough to use them!
Halle and Abigail built a butterfly house on the sidewalk with rocks from the front area. They were very disappointed when no butterflies moved in.
It was high time to cut Cora off from her water bottle ('wads') at night. She was soaking through 2-3 diapers each night! So we made a chart, set a prize (her own Polly Pocket!) and she did it! In just one week she broke the habit of taking her water bottle to bed with her and hasn't gone back! And she got her very own narwhal Polly Pocket set as a reward!
We tried pig tails on Halle - she did not like them.
Eve saw the doctor again and got the go ahead to remove her thumb brace! We go one final time in a couple of days to make sure the bone has stayed in place but then she'll be completely free and clear! The first thing she did was head back to the tramp! And her sisters went too! Now they jump every day again!
Halle got her annual eye exam and a new pair of glasses!

Although she wanted this pair. (I vetoed).
Cora has two bottles of Zandar on her bedroom shelf. This girl and her peanut butter! It's only the Skippy brand, but she loves it and named it and plays with it whenever I buy it.
Abigail staying up late to read her chapter books.
Seth went through this several day phase where he'd scream and scream at night, like he was scared or something. So one night we let him try sleeping in Eve and Halle's room to see if that would help. It didn't and he didn't last long before we put him back in his crib.
Sometimes when Daddy dresses Seth - an unsnapped onesie over a pair of shorts?
This baby gave us quite a scare when we learned at my 35 week appointment that he/she was breech! For two weeks my stress level was really high (please no c-section!) but then at my appointment on July 23rd, baby had turned! I think it was a blessing for feeding 50 missionaries at their zone conference lunch that day, by myself with 5 kids in tow. I'd been complaining about having to do it for a while and it was quite a sacrifice, but the missionaries said they'd pray for me that the baby would turn and, well, missionaries have a lot of faith!
So we finally got to see some cute pictures of this baby's face! Does that not look exactly like Seth? We still don't know the gender and are waiting to be surprised! My due date is August 16th and I'm scheduled to be induced on August 13th if baby hasn't come by then. Just a few more days!
Finally heading home from feeding the missionaries and cleaning up after. It was a long day for all of us, but so worth it!

Once Seth tried on the bike helmet, he was hooked! He loves to wear it around now.
And what else does he love? The book "Little Blue Truck" that I picked out for him at the JBF sale in July. Besides some clothes for mostly Eve and Seth (the others are set!), my best find was a 10" glass pie plate! Can't wait to put that sucker to use!
Anyway, Seth is now obsessed with this book and gets it read to him dozens of times a day. Good thing he has three older sisters who can read to him so it's not just Mommy!
One Sunday I came home from Sacrament Meeting to find that Andrew had dressed Seth.....like this. That is a size 4 shirt with the top button missing and brown slicky pants.
Seth discovered that if he really tries, he can squeeze into the Barbie car!
And it's so cute, his sisters are willing to push him up and down the hall!
At the end of July, I took Seth in for a six month follow-up on his ear tubes. The good news is they're both still in and clear!
Abigail thought it would be a good idea to dangle her necklace from Natasha above the nightlight that was only halfway plugged in and got a good burst of energy as a reward. It scorched the night light and the outlet and melted her necklace chain. I didn't understand what Cora was trying to tell me when she said, "Abigail electrocuted her necklace," but when we did figure out what had happened, we were not thrilled! Luckily she did not hurt herself or start a fire, but hopefully it was bad enough to help her remember not to do it again? Dare to dream....
Just relaxing with some beer...root beer, that is. Seth loves it.
And to finish out July, we squeezed in one last project - cleaning the living room carpet! We emptied out everything we had the energy to move and got to work.
And by we, I mean Andrew. While I sat on the sidelines critiquing his carpet cleaning skills. I can't help it! Years of doing it at BYU has left me very particular! He did a pretty good job, though, and the carpet looks much better!
Alright, August we're ready for you. And for anyone keeping track, I am now officially caught up on the blog after being 10 months behind at one point. Woohoo!
