Here's some other random things we did in August, before the new baby was born.
So much room to play when the couches are moved for vacuuming!
Abigail lost another tooth! But didn't want the tooth fairy to take it until she'd had a chance to show her sisters, so she didn't put it under her pillow, but also left a note in case the tooth fairy found it anyway. (Our tooth fairy is not the most reliable, so it pays to be extra cautious.)
Seth got to go to the hospital with Mommy for another renal ultrasound - doesn't he look so handsome in a mask? His first time wearing one and he actually left it on....for a little while, at least.
In and out and he got a lollipop for being good! He wasn't too sure about holding still for it, so I let him play on my phone and he did just fine. We don't meet with the nephrologist until November, but hopefully this is the end of the monitoring of his kidneys?
Now back home to do some manly digging in the rocks!
Cora let me braid her hair! This is a big deal. This girl has never had a haircut and ALWAYS just has her hair down long - no ponytails or braids. To be fair, it's just now getting long enough to play with and she's finally allowing me to experiment. Super cute!
Seth thinks he is old enough to get the milk out of the fridge when he wants some. We are not happy about this. (Don't worry - fast forward two months and he'll get what's coming to him. A little teaser for October's posts.)
Building with Jenga blocks, or Genja, as the girls pronounce it.
I feel like this picture is self-explanatory. And, also great for blackmail later in life.
Ever since I brought the "Little Blue Truck" book home from the JBF sale in July, Seth has been obsessed. We read it to him many, many times a day.
I have so many little helpers in the kitchen, Seth being just as (if not more) eager to participate as his sisters.
I promise he wears clothes sometimes. Maybe all of this happened in the same afternoon?
Sometimes you're just so tired....I can relate.
Dude found the tablet and a little nook to watch in.
Twiners!
Andrew's first Sunday back at church since March was August 9th. I just couldn't handle it that day, so I took a turn staying home. (And accidentally posted this picture on Facebook before realizing it had our house number in it. Andrew was not amused and I quickly took a new one after church and swapped it out. Safety due to his job, and all.)
Abigail and Seth wanted a picture even though they were staying home with me.
The new, after-church, picture.
And, Seth after church.
Aunt Kelly surprised us with cake pops to celebrate the new baby almost being here! (Get it? Pops?)
They were greatly enjoyed by all!
And, it was also my birthday. Being 9 months pregnant, we celebrated by picking Grandma Smith up at the airport (yay!!!) and eating homemade ice cream and angel food cake.
Oh, and of course, my favorite - Firehouse Subs and Five Guys fries - for dinner. Abigail loves the turkey bacon ranch sandwich we always get and enjoyed sharing a piece of mine!
And now that Grandma had arrived, I was officially off-duty! She was a champ and took the girls outside first thing every morning to ride bikes and play while I got to sleep in a bit. Andrew was also still working from home at this point and school hadn't started yet.
Halle hadn't had much bike experience yet, after getting the bike for her birthday last year. But Grandma got to work and Halle was a pro in no time!
Finishing off those delicious cake pops!
And baby still hadn't come on his/her own so bedtime on the 12th was extra exciting. Don't they look thrilled?
Being induced in the morning!
